IPTV Service on a Firestick

Amazon's store carries no IPTV players, so the stick is told once that an app from outside the store is allowed. That is the single extra step, and it takes about a minute.

Nobody pays for setup here. Message support on WhatsApp and the steps get done together.

Install Downloader

  1. 1.On the Fire TV home screen, go to Find, then Search.
  2. 2.Type Downloader and pick it from the results.
  3. 3.Select the orange Downloader tile and press Get to install it.

Allow installs from Downloader

The setting sits in a different place on newer and older sticks.

  1. 1.Newer sticks: Settings, My Fire TV, About. Highlight the Fire TV Stick line and press the select button seven times. Go back once, open Developer Options, and enable Install unknown apps for Downloader.
  2. 2.Older sticks: Settings, My Fire TV, Developer Options, then set Apps from Unknown Sources to on.
Note. Amazon hid Developer Options in a software update. The seven presses on the About screen restore it.

Load a player and sign in

Open Downloader, enter the app address from your WhatsApp message, and install what downloads. Three players that work well:

  • TiviMate

    Paid

The strongest program guide and recording. One license covers up to five devices.

  • IBO Player Pro

    Paid

A free week, then one payment. The 12-month plan includes a year of it.

  • IPTV Smarters

    Free

Free and simple, enough for most households.

Open the player, select the Xtream Codes login, and enter the username, password and server address from the message. The channel list and the guide populate on their own.

Prefer not to sideload? An Android box or Chromecast installs the same players from the Play Store, and a Roku or a Samsung or LG TV needs no stick. Either way, review the full channel list first.
